Ron Horsley, a Boston native and University of Southern California alumnus, has completed his new audiobook "The Greater Union": a not-too-distant futuristic exploration of life under extraterrestrial dominance. This intense, imaginative, and grounded adventure highlights the ironies of a humanity on the brink of extinction.

Author Ron Horsley discusses his work, writing, "A founding member of the Sin Vegas Union, Hector Contreras was a child when Earth was commandeered by the Lorians. Along with those left, he spent the next 50 years fighting their extraterrestrial adversaries. For his reward, Hector helped create one of the few overpopulated, advanced megacolonies left on the planet. Drained by decades of service to humanity and the loss of his wife, Hector now spends his remaining years with a new companion in relative peace. However, his peace comes at great cost."

Audiobooks are the fastest growing segment in the digital publishing industry. According to The Infinite Dial 2019, 50% of Americans age 12 and older have listened to an audiobook. This huge growth can be partly attributed to increased listening in cars, which surpassed the home as the #1 audiobook listening location in the 2019 survey. Smart speaker proliferation also bodes well for future listening growth and more mainstream listening.
